COL BKB: Purdue 81, Illinois 70

CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- JuJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore teamed up for 44 points Sunday and No. 12 Purdue used a big second half to down Illinois 81-70.

Johnson scored 24 points and hauled down nine rebounds while Moore added 20 points for the Boilermakers (20-5, 9-3 Big Ten), who broke a four-game conference road losing streak.

Kelsey Barlow chipped in with nine points and five boards and Ryne Smith contributed nine and five as Purdue overcame a five-point deficit at the break and outscored Illinois 54-38 down the stretch to win going away.

Brandon Paul pumped in 23 points off the bench for the Illini (16-9, 6-6), who absorbed their sixth loss in nine contests.
