AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade had 24 points and keyed a surge late in the first half that propelled Miami to a 106-92 victory over Detroit.
The Heat closed the second quarter on a 20-6 run and took a 21-point lead into intermission. The Heat went on to win their eighth in a row.

Chris Bosh had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Miami while LeBron James narrowly missed a triple-double with 16 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. It was the opening game of a four-game road trip for the Heat.
Detroit was led by Austin Daye with 18 points and Ben Gordon with 16.
