PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Steve Marino parlayed an eagle and two birdies Saturday into continued sole possession of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am lead after three rounds.
Marino eagled the par-5 sixth hole, helping him to overcome five bogeys on the Monterey Peninsula Shore Course and go on to card a 1-over-par 71, finishing one stroke clear of the field at 12-under 202.
Marino had a four-shot cushion coming into play Saturday and emerged with the advantage despite his struggles -- the first time in his professional career he's held sole possession of the lead after three rounds of a PGA event.
Jimmy Walker (63) and Bryce Molder (68) ended the day one shot back at 11-under 203.
D.A. Points slipped from second to fourth place, registering a 1-under 71 to end at minus-10.
