COL BKB: Notre Dame 78, South Florida 55

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Hot-shooting Jack Cooley scored 18 points Saturday in No. 7 Notre Dame's 78-55 rout of South Florida.

Cooley was 9-of-10 from the field and led Notre Dame (21-4, 10-3 Big East) in double figures in the seventh consecutive league victory for the Irish.

Carleton Scott scored 13 points for Notre Dame and also had 11 rebounds. Ben Hansbrough and Tim Abromatis added 12 points each.

Notre Dame shot 55.7 percent from the field to 30.4 percent for South Florida (8-18, 2-11) but struggled with only 3-of-7 from the line. Rebounds were even with 37 for each team.

Shaun Noriega scored 23 to lead the Bulls, who have lost six of their last seven contests.
