NBA: New Jersey 94, Charlotte 89

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Brook Lopez helped stake New Jersey to a big lead Friday and the Nets fought off a late Charlotte charge to down the Bobcats 94-89.

Lopez scored 31 points and had 11 rebounds, boosting the Nets to as much as a 20-point cushion in the third period. Devin Harris added 16 points and Kris Humphries had 15 points and 14 rebounds off the bench.

New Jersey has won two in a row after losing three straight.

Charlotte was led by 21 points from Stephen Jackson and 20 from Gerald Wallace. The Bobcats have lost four out of five.

The Nets won despite shooting just 40 percent from the field and making only 2-of-14 from 3-point range. They turned the ball over a mere five times.
