NHL: San Jose 3, Columbus 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Patrick Marleau scored with 4:51 remaining Wednesday to finish off a San Jose rally and give the Sharks a 3-2 victory over Columbus.

San Jose overcame a 2-0 deficit after one period to win its fifth straight and its ninth out of 10 games.

The Blue Jackets got two power-play goals in the opening period from Kristian Huselius and Grant Clitsome. The second of those came with just 9 seconds left in the stanza.

Kent Huskins began the San Jose rally 1:56 into the second and Kyle Wellwood tied it with 6:21 to go in the period.

It remained a tie contest until Marleau put a wrist shot past Steve Mason for his 20th goal of the season.

Antti Niemi got the win with 42 saves. Mason allowed three goals on 32 shots. Since struggling through a six-game losing streak in early January, the Sharks have earned at lest a point in 10 straight outings (9-0-1).
