NHL: Boston 8, Montreal 6

BOSTON, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Nathan Horton had a goal and four assists Wednesday in leading Boston to a wild 8-6 decision over Montreal.

The Bruins never trailed, but only once did they have more than a two-goal advantage. That came when Horton scored with 5:06 left in the third period for an 8-5 Boston advantage.

Milan Lucic and Michael Ryder both had two goals for the Bruins, winners of four out of five. They own a four-point lead over Montreal at the top of the Northeast Division.

Tim Thomas picked up the victory even though he allowed six goals on 33 shots. He came into the game as the NHL leader with a goals-against average of 1.80.

Dennis Seidenberg, Adam McQuaid and Brad Marchand also scored for Boston.

Both teams had four goals in the second period.

Max Pacioretty scored twice for the Canadiens and Carey Price allowed eight goals in his career for the first time. Boston's eight scores came on 34 shots.
