NHL: Phoenix 1, Minnesota 0

GLENDALE, Ariz., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov stopped all 25 shots he faced and Taylor Pyatt got the game's only goal Saturday in the Phoenix Coyotes' 1-0 whitewash of Minnesota.

Bryzgalov faced down four Minnesota power plays and benefited from a tight Phoenix defense that allowed only eight shots in the final period as the Coyotes broke a five-game home losing streak.

Pyatt scored on a wrist shot from the slot off a centering pass from Sami Lepisto less than 3 minutes into the third period, and the Coyotes made it hold up to gain two much-needed points in the tight Western Conference playoff race.

Niklas Backstrom absorbed the hard-luck defeat for the Wild, stopping 40-of-41 shots as Minnesota lost for only the fourth time in 15 road games.
