BOSTON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Antti Niemi logged his third shutout of the year and Logan Couture scored a first-period goal Saturday in the San Jose Sharks' 2-0 win over Boston.
Niemi improved to 15-13 on the year with his 10th career whitewash, in which he turned aside all 26 shots he saw and survived four Boston power plays.

Couture's power-play tally 7:22 into the game gave the Sharks all the offense they would need as they improved to 8-2-1 in their last 11 road games and grabbed two much-needed points in the Western Conference standings.
Devin Setoguchi added an empty-net goal for San Jose.
Tim Thomas took the hard-luck loss after stopping 16-of-17 shots for the Bruins, who lost only the third time in nine games.
