NASHVILLE, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Pekka Rinne collected his fourth shutout of the season, turning aside 35 shots Saturday in the Nashville Predators' 3-0 whitewash of Detroit.
Rinne was sorely tested in final frame, stopping 17 shots en route to his 18th victory as the Preds broke a four-game losing skid.

Nashville got a pair of goals from Sergei Kostitsyn and one from Shea Weber.
Kostitsyin's first goal was a shorthanded tally coming with 5:57 to play in the second period that handed Nashville a 2-0 lead. His second with less than 3 minutes left in the game put the icing on the Predators' win.
Joey MacDonald took the loss for the Red Wings, allowing three goals on 29 shots.
