COL BKB: Purdue 73, Minnesota 61

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- JuJuan Johnson pumped in 24 points Saturday and No. 12 Purdue remained undefeated at home with a 73-61 victory over No. 18 Minnesota.

Johnson grabbed seven rebounds and Ryne Smith came off the bench to can 15 points for the Boilermakers (18-4, 7-2 Big Ten), who raised their home record to 12-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

Johnson scored the final four points of the first half and first two of the second to put the Boilermakers up 31-26. Lewis Jackson and D.J. Byrd then each hit 3-pointers to hand Purdue a nine-point advantage.

Jackson popped in 13 rebounds and dished off five assist for Purdue, which overcame a 3-for-13 shooting performance by guard E'Twaun Moore, who finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Minnesota (16-5, 5-4) got 17 points and 12 rebounds from Trevor Mbakwe as its four-game winning streak was snapped.
