COL BKB: Texas 61, Oklahoma State 46

STILLWATER, Okla., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Tristan Thompson led the way with 14 points Wednesday and No. 8 Texas clamped down on defense to defeat Oklahoma State 61-46.

Coming off its surprising win over previously unbeaten Kansas last Saturday that ended the Jayhawks' 69-game home winning streak, the Longhorns overcame a sluggish start to stay perfect in the Big 12 Conference race.

Texas has won five in a row and 11 out of 12. The Cowboys had won 13 straight at home.

The score was tied with 2:30 to play in the first half, but the Longhorns closed the opening period with a seven-point run. They then held Oklahoma State to 19 second-half points and limited the Cowboys to 32 percent shooting from the field.

Jordan Hamilton added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Longhorns (17-3, 5-0 Big 12).

Oklahoma State (14-6, 2-4) was led by Marshall Moses with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
