OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis forced overtime with a jumper as regulation time expired and the Golden State Warriors beat Sacramento 119-112 Friday, despite blowing a late lead.
The Kings outscored the Warriors 30-22 in the fourth quarter and then blew a late lead of their own. Sacramento led 103-99 with 31.2 second left in the period when Ellis hit a 3-pointer. Pooh Jeter then went to the line for Sacramento but converted just one of two free throws before Ellis tied the score with a jumper from just outside the foul line.
The Warriors tore off a 10-0 run at the start of overtime to take control and went on to win their fourth straight game.
Ellis sprained an ankle after Donte Greene landed on him during a scramble for a loose ball.
