NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki nailed a jumper with 6 seconds left Saturday, delivering Dallas an 87-86 victory over New Jersey.

The bucket gave Nowitzki 23 points to go with seven rebounds. Tyson Chandler tagged on another 19 points and eight rebounds. Jason Terry contributed 11 points off the bench.

The Nets were led by Brook Lopez's 24 points. Devin Harris scored 15 and had 11 assists.

Both clubs are just 3-7 in their last 10 games but the Mavericks still have the third-best record in the NBA Western Conference at 28-15, while the Nets are 14th in the Eastern Conference at 12-32.
