NHL: Minnesota 6, Calgary 0

CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat scored Minnesota's first and last goals Wednesday and Niklas Backstrom made 37 saves in carrying the Wild to a 6-0 victory over Calgary.

Backstrom made his first start in 2011 after missing nine games with a sore hip. He had his second shutout of the season and the 21st of his five-year career.

Havlat scored 3:25 into the game and he wrapped up the Wild's offense by tipping in a shot with 2:52 to go in the third.

Mikko Koivu, John Madden, Cal Clutterbuck and Chuck Kobasew also scored for Minnesota, which has won three in a row. The Wild outscored the opposition in those three games 14-1.

All six goals were surrendered by Miikka Kiprusoff on 24 shots. The Flames have lost six out of eight.
