LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Blake Griffin scored 29 points Wednesday and even though his double-double streak ended he powered the Los Angeles Clippers past Minnesota 126-111.
Griffin had 27 consecutive double-double performances working, but he managed only eight rebounds against the Timberwolves. Nevertheless, he helped bring the Clippers their third straight win and their sixth in seven games.
Griffin was coming off a career-best 47 points, the most scored in the NBA this year, in a victory over Indiana.
Los Angeles has won six in a row at home. Minnesota has lost three straight and has managed only two road victories all year.
The Clippers led by 12 at the half -- a lead that dwindled to no fewer than six points the rest of the way. Eric Gordon added 23 points for Los Angeles and Baron Davis had 20.
Kevin Love had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves. While Griffin's double-double streak ended, Love extended his to 29 straight games.
