NBA: Chicago 82, Dallas 77

CHICAGO, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose scored eight of his 26 points in the fourth period Thursday to key a Chicago rally that brought the Bulls an 82-77 win over Dallas.

The Mavericks, who lost for the seventh time in eight games, had a four-point lead heading into the fourth period.

They managed only 17 points in the final quarter, but still found themselves within one when Dirk Nowitzki made a layup with 2:17 to play. Dallas did not score again.

Chicago shot only 36 percent from the field but held the Mavericks to 35 percent. Rose was the only member of the Bulls to reach double figures in scoring, hitting just 9-of-28 shots from the field.

Nowitzki led Dallas with 19 points.
