NHL: Columbus 3, Florida 2 (OT)

SUNRISE, Fla., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- R.J. Umberger scored on the power play with 54 seconds left in overtime Wednesday, giving the Columbus Blue Jackets a 3-2 victory over Florida.

The Blue Jackets overcame an early two-goal deficit to win for just the second time in their last nine games.

Grant Clitsome fired a slap shot that Tomas Vokoun saved, but Umberger collected the rebound and produced the game-winner. The goal came with Dmitry Kulikov in the penalty box for hooking.

David Booth and Cory Stillman gave Florida a 2-0 lead in the first period but Fedor Tyutin cut the Columbus deficit in half with 1:19 to go in the opening stanza.

Florida protected its one-goal lead until Antoine Vermette put a backhander past Vokoun with only 53 seconds left in regulation.

Steve Mason got the win by making 29 saves.

The Panthers have dropped two straight and five out of eight.
