NBA: New Jersey 103, Utah 95

NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Brook Lopez started a run of eight straight points in the final 2 minutes Wednesday that ended a Utah rally and brought New Jersey a 103-95 win over the Jazz.

New Jersey halted a six-game losing streak but had to survive a Utah comeback that saw the Jazz wipe out almost all of a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Utah closed within 93-91 on a layup and free throw by Al Jefferson with 1:52 to play.

Lopez then kicked off the New Jersey surge 8 seconds later and he added two free throws during the run that put the game away.

Lopez led the Nets with 20 points and Sasha Vujacic added 15. The win came on the day the franchise owner took New Jersey out of trade talks involving Denver's Carmelo Anthony.

The Nets responded with just their second win in 13 games.

Jefferson led Utah with 21 points and Deron Williams had 20.
