ATLANTA, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Former Atlanta head Coach Jim Mora has interviewed for the defensive coordinator jobs in Denver and Philadelphia, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Mora, now an NFL Network analyst, is considered the leading candidate in both cities, the newspaper reported Tuesday.

Ike Reese, a former linebacker who played for Mora with the Falcons in 2005-06, said Mora possessed "a player's mentality."

"Growing up around NFL players his whole life, being a college player himself, he understands today's players," Reese told The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Under Mora, the Falcons had an 11-5 season and went to the NFC title game in his first season, 2004. But the Falcons missed the playoffs the next two years, going 8-8 and 7-9, and Mora was fired.

A season as head coach in Seattle in 2009 was a disappointment as the Seahawks went 5-11 and Mora was fired with four years left on his contract.

If Mora goes to the Eagles, he could be reunited with Michael Vick, his starting quarterback with the Falcons.

Vick is a free agent but is expected to stay in Philadelphia.
