Dwight Hardy contributed 12 points and Justin Brownlee chipped in with 11 for St. John's (11-5, 4-2 Big East).
After a cold-shooting first 10 minutes, St. John's picked it up, taking a 10-point lead, 16-6, on a pair of consecutive Boothe 3-pointers. The Red Storm then went on to post a 26-19 halftime lead and cruised to the win.
The Irish (14-4, 3-3), meanwhile, followed a loss against Marquette last week with another discouraging Big East setback, in which they turned the ball over 20 times.
Ben Hansbrough led Notre Dame with 18 points and Tim Abromaitis went just 4-of-11 from the field for 10 points.
