COL BKB: Villanova 74, Maryland 66

VILLANOVA, Pa., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Maalik Wayns' 22 points helped No. 7 Villanova come back from a big second-half deficit Saturday and register a 74-66 victory over Maryland.

Wayns' performance helped offset a subpar outing from the Wildcats' leading scorer, Corey Stokes, who was held to nine points.

Villanova (16-1) erased a double-digit deficit with a 19-0 second-half run that changed the momentum and handed the Wildcats their 11th straight victory.

Corey Fisher came up big during the run, scoring eight of his 17 points, and Antonio Pena contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds for the victors.

The Terrapins (11-6) managed only three field goals in the game's final 9 minutes.

Jordan Williams led Maryland with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
