ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Bobby Ryan opened a wild final period by completing the third hat trick of his career Wednesday, vaulting the Anaheim Ducks to a 7-4 victory over St. Louis.
Ryan produced two of Anaheim's three first-period goals but the Blues came back on a pair of scores by David Backes in the second stanza.
Holding only a one-goal lead to begin the third, Anaheim ran off four straight goals to turn the game into a rout. Ryan produced the first of those by tipping in a shot just 30 seconds into the period for his 21st goal of the season.
Corey Perry, Lubomir Visnovsky and Brandon McMillan then added goals for the Ducks, the last two coming on the power play.
St. Louis came up with two goals over the final 4 minutes to reduce its deficit.
The Ducks won their third straight, the previous two victories coming in shutouts. Jonas Hiller, author of those shutouts, picked up his sixth win in seven starts despite allowing four goals on 34 shots. Anaheim completed a 5-1 homestand.
Ty Conklin surrendered all seven Anaheim goals on 24 shots.
