NHL: Philadelphia 5, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Scott Hartnell notched a pair goals and Danny Briere added a goal and three assists Tuesday in the Philadelphia Flyers' 5-2 win over Buffalo.

Sergei Bobrovsky settled down after a rough start to turn aside 38-of-40 Sabres shots, raising his season's record to 16-6 and leading the Flyers to their fourth consecutive win.

Philadelphia used the victory to lengthen its Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference lead over idle Pittsburgh to three points, 59-56.

Buffalo got first-period goals from Paul Gaustad and Cody McCormick but couldn't find the net thereafter, losing for only the second time in six games.

Ryan Miller stopped 28-of-32 shots.
