COL BKB: Brigham Young 104, Utah 79

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Jimmer Fredette connected on six 3-pointers en route to a season-high 47 points Tuesday, sparking No. 10 Brigham Young to a 104-79 pounding of Utah.

Fredette put in 32 of his points in the first half and went 16-of-28 from the field overall for the Cougars (17-1, 3-0 MWC), who have won seven in a row.

Fredette's 47-point performance was two shy of the BYU single-game record of 49 he set in December 2009 against Arizona.

Jackson Emery chipped in with 20 points while Brandon Davies and Noah Hartsock added 12 each for the Cougars.

The Utes (7-10, 0-3) were led by Will Clyburn with 23 points off the bench.
