UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Jeff Brooks and Andrew Jones combined for 33 points off the bench Saturday, helping propel Penn State to a 66-62 upset of No. 19 Michigan State.
Brooks scored 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked four shots and Jones pitched in with 16 points for the Nittany Lions (9-6, 2-2 Big Ten), who lost twice to the Spartans last season.

Big Ten scoring leader Talor Battle was held to 13 points but connected on a key jump shot with 15 seconds left to put Penn State up by three points.
Durrell Summers scored a game-high 21 points and Kalin Lucas added 14 more for the Spartans (10-5, 2-1), who tasted defeat after winning their first two conference games.
