COL BKB: Colorado 89, Missouri 76

BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Alec Burks poured in 36 points Saturday and Colorado downed eighth-ranked Missouri 89-76 in its final Big 12 Conference opener.

Burks' performance was a career high and Cory Higgins chipped in with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Buffaloes (12-4, 1-0 Big 12), who will leave the Big 12 after this season to join the Pac 12 Conference.

Levi Knutson contributed 13 points and Austin Dufault netted 12 for the victors.

The Tigers (14-2, 0-1), meanwhile, saw their nine-game losing streak broken in their conference opener.

Michael Dixon scored 17 points, Laurence Bowers added 15 and seven rebounds and Marcus Denmon netted 14 points in Missouri's loss.
