NHL: Toronto 6, St. Louis 5 (SO)

TORONTO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Tyler Bozak scored the last of Toronto's three straight shootout goals Thursday, giving the Maple Leafs a 6-5 victory over St. Louis.

Toronto let a three-goal lead get away in the third period, and then survived a wild shootout that saw the teams combine for five goals in four rounds.

Mikhail Grabovski and Kris Versteeg also scored in the shootout for the Maple Leafs, who ended a four-game home losing streak.

Toronto faced a one-goal deficit heading into the second period but Grabovski, Versteeg and Phil Kessel all scored in that stanza. Kessel produced his second goal of the game 1:51 into the third to give the Maple Leafs a seemingly safe 5-2 cushion.

Over a span of 7 minutes, however, St. Louis got goals from Brad Winchester, Eric Brewer and Matt D'Agostini to tie it.

Jonas Gustavsson made 39 saves to pick up the victory.

St. Louis has lost two straight after winning five in a row. Jaroslav Halak started in goal for the Blues, but was removed after allowing four scores on 19 shots.

Ty Conklin took the loss in relief with 11 saves.
