COL BKB: San Diego State 66, TCU 53

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Malcolm Thomas made 8-of-10 shots from the field and scored 18 points Wednesday to help No. 6 San Diego State remain unbeaten with a 66-53 win over TCU.

Thomas sparked a 15-1 run that began late in the first half and rallied the Aztecs from a six-point deficit.

San Diego State kept its place among the seven major college basketball games without a loss this season. The Aztecs improved to 16-0, the best start in school history.

It was the first Mountain West Conference game for both teams.

Kawhi Leonard had 14 points and 11 rebounds for San Diego State, which made 4-of-22 from 3-point range. The Aztecs attempted only six free throws, but limited the Horned Frogs to 36 percent shooting from the field.

TCU (9-7, 0-1) was led by Garlon Green with 13 points. The Horned Frogs had won their first seven home games by an average of 19 points.
