COL BKB: Kansas 99, Missouri-KC 52

LAWRENCE, Kan., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Josh Selby and Tyshawn Taylor touched off a torrid start for No. 3 Kansas Wednesday and the Jayhawks went on to maul Missouri-Kansas City 99-52.

Kansas did not allow the Kangaroos to score during the first 5:30 of the game and then limited them to a single point during a 7-minute stretch of the second half.

Selby scored 16 points and Taylor had 15 in Kansas' 68th straight home win. The Jayhawks shot 55 percent from the field and limited Missouri-Kansas City to 30 percent.

Of the seven unbeaten teams left in major college basketball, four were in action Wednesday. All four won, with Kansas joining Central Florida, San Diego State and Duke in protecting their perfect records.

The Kangaroos (8-7) were led by Jay Couisnard and Bakari Lewis with 16 points each.
