WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Martin St. Louis scored 2:06 into overtime Tuesday, boosting the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 1-0 win over Washington and into sole possession of the division lead.

St. Louis collected a rebound left by Semyon Varlamov on his kick-save of a Vincent Lecavalier shot and buried it into a half-open net for the game-winner, enabling the Bolts to bypass the Capitals atop the Southeast Division.

Dwayne Roloson stopped all 34 shots he faced to record a shutout in his first game for Tampa Bay since being acquired from the New York Islanders.

Varlamov absorbed the loss despite making 37 saves for the Capitals, who fell two points behind the Lightning in the division standings.
