COL BKB: Michigan St. 65, Northwestern 62

EVANSTON, Ill., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Draymond Green netted 15 points, including a key basket in the closing seconds Monday to boost No. 19 Michigan State to a 65-62 win over Northwestern.

The Spartans (10-4 2-0 Big Ten) held a double-digit lead in the second half but Northwestern steadily chipped away at it and a 3-pointer and lay-in off a John Shurna feed by Michael Thompson cut the deficit to one point, 63-62, with 32 seconds left.
