PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Kevin Kolb will start at quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in place of Michael Vick in the regular-season ending game Sunday against Dallas.

Kolb opened the season as the Eagles' starter but was replaced by Vick when he was injured. Vick himself was injured and Kolb took over, but Vick regained the starting position and responded with a season that earned him a Pro Bowl selection.

The Philadelphia Enquirer reported Thursday that Vick will be held out of Sunday's game.

Vick injured his thigh in Tuesday's game against Minnesota, a 24-14 loss that locked the Eagles (10-5) into the NFC's No. 3 spot in the playoffs, making the Dallas game relatively meaningless. Vick isn't expected to be the only Philadelphia starter to see little or no playing time Sunday.

In 12 games this season Vick has passed for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns against just six interceptions for a 100.2 passer rating. He has also rushed for 676 yards and nine touchdowns.
