PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Unheralded rookie quarterback Joe Webb threw for 195 yards in his first NFL start Tuesday, leading the Minnesota Vikings to a 24-14 win over Philadelphia.

Webb went 17-of-26 through the air and rushed for a score in the game, which had been rescheduled from Sunday night due to last weekend's major East Coast snowstorm.

Webb made the start for Brett Favre, who was held out the contest due to the lingering effects of a concussion.

Adrian Peterson returned after missing the Vikings' last game to carry the ball 23 times for 118 yards and a touchdown with 6:43 left to seal the victory for the Vikings (6-9), who won in Philadelphia for the first time since 1985.

Michael Vick, named a Pro Bowl starter before the game, was largely contained by the Vikings' defense, going 25-of-43 passing for 263 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the NFC East champion Eagles (10-5).

Philadelphia maintained its hold on the No. 3 seed in the NFC despite the loss.

One consequence of the Eagles' setback was that the NFC North champion Chicago Bears earned a first-round bye in the playoffs.
