NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Atlanta 2 (OT)

ATLANTA, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Vincent Lecavalier struck for a goal in overtime Sunday and the Tampa Bay Lightning posted a 3-2 victory over Atlanta in a Southeast Division showdown.

The goal was the second of the game for Lecavalier and came during a 4-on-3 power play in the extra frame. Martin St. Louis flipped the puck out of the low right circle to Lecavalier, who tapped it past Ondrej Pavelec for the game-winner.

Steven Stamkos contributed a goal and an assist and Dan Ellis made 26 stops.

It was Tampa Bay's sixth win in seven games and gave the first-place Bolts a four-point lead over the Thrashers in the division standings.

Zach Bogosian and Freddy Modin scored in the Thrashers' third straight loss and Pavelec turned aside 31 shots.
