COL BKB: Notre Dame 93, Maryland-BC 53

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Tim Abromaitis led Notre Dame to a torrid first half Wednesday and the 20th-ranked Fighting Irish went on to down Maryland-Baltimore County 93-53.

Notre Dame shot 58.6 percent from the field in the first half and led by as many as 31 points before settling for a 48-29 advantage at the break.

Abromaitis scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds. Notre Dame (11-1) has won three straight since suffering its lone loss to Kentucky Dec. 8.

The Retrievers remained winless in 12 games this season. They were led by Chris De La Rosa with 15 points.

It was the first meeting ever between the teams. Maryland-Baltimore County has played 17 games against teams from the Big East Conference and has lost them all.
