COL BKB: Florida 57, Kansas State 44

SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Kenny Boynton scored 15 points and Erving Walker came off the bench to add 13 more Saturday for No. 24 Florida in a 57-44 win over sixth-ranked Kansas State.

Vernon Macklin added 10 for the Gators (8-2), who played a tough defense to key the win. They held Kansas State to only 26.8 percent shooting from the floor and 3-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Florida started slow, falling behind 12-2 but clawed back to take their first lead at 24-23 on Macklin's dunk less than a minute into the second half. The Gators then went on a 13-3 run to take the lead for good.

Jacob Pullen led the Wildcats (9-2) with 19 points.

The setback snapped Kansas State's five-game winning streak.
