LAS VEGAS, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Las Vegas police say boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was arrested on a battery charge resulting from an altercation over a parking citation at a Strip casino.

The Thursday arrest and charge stem from allegations he repeatedly poked a Southern Highlands casino security officer in the face following a Nov. 15 confrontation over a parking citation, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Police said security guard Shayne Smith cited two of Mayweather's vehicles for parking violations at the casino and a confrontation ensued in which the boxer allegedly was verbally abusive and jabbed his finger into Smith's cheek.

The battery charge could lead to revocation of Mayweather's bail on pending felony charges stemming from a Sept. 9 domestic violence incident involving his three children and their mother, Josie Harris.

Mayweather, who is facing felony charges including felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery, is free on $31,000 bail in that case.
