NHL: Tampa Bay 2, Atlanta 1 (SO)

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Victor Hedman's lone goal of the shootout Wednesday, coming in the fourth round, lifted the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 2-1 victory over Atlanta.

Hedman fired a wrist shot that just made it inside the left post past Ondrej Pavelec. Mike Smith then stopped Evander Kane to remain perfect in the shootout and give the Lightning their second straight win.

Pavelec stopped 30 shots in what was Atlanta's second loss in six games.
