BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Drew Stafford scored his second and third goals of the game in the third period Wednesday, rallying the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win over Boston.
Stafford, who has three career hat tricks, has been fighting a shoulder injury and was playing for just the second time since early November.
He tied the score at 1-1 late in the first period with a power-play goal. Michael Ryder put the Bruins in front 6:21 into the third but Stafford again scored the tying goal 32 seconds later -- and then produced the game-winner on the power play with 9:05 remaining.
Derek Roy assisted on all three Stafford goals and Ryan Miller made 32 saves, helping the Sabres to their fourth win in six games.
Tuukka Rask stopped 35 shots for the Bruins.
