NHL: Tampa Bay 5, Vancouver 4 (OT)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Steven Stamkos got his second goal of the game 34 seconds into overtime Saturday, handing the Tampa Bay Lighting a 5-4 decision over Vancouver.

With Ryan Kesler off on a high-sticking call, Tampa Bay held a 4-on-3 advantage and Stamkos got the game-winner on a slap shot off assists from Martin St. Louis and Ryan Malone.

The decisive tally was the 24th goal of the year for Stamkos, second-most in the NHL behind Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby. He also scored in the second period and added an assist for the Lightning, who won in Vancouver for the first time in franchise history.

Teddy Purcell had a goal and an assist and Nate Thompson and Brett Clark also scored in Tampa Bay's win. Dan Ellis turned aside 23-of-27 shots.

Henrik and Daniel Sedin each notched a goal and an assist for Vancouver, which also got tallies from Keith Ballard and Manny Malhotra in the setback.

Cory Schneider made 18 saves in the loss.
