COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Rick Nash scored two third-period goals Saturday, propelling the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Nash single-handedly won the game for Columbus in the final frame, putting the Blue Jackets ahead for good at 2-1 with 5:09 remaining on a wrist shot from a severe angle to the left of Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

He beat Lundqvist again less than 4 minutes later, catching him with a backhander as he was leaving the ice for an extra attacker.

Antoine Vermette added a tally and Steve Mason stopped 32 shots for Columbus, which won for just the second time in eight games.

Marc Staal scored the only New York goal and Lundqvist let in three goals on 23 shots.
