DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Reilley Rankin, Libby Smith and Aree Song held a share of the lead Wednesday after the first of five rounds of the LPGA Tour Qualifying School.
All three fired rounds of 5-under-par 67 on the Legends and Champions courses of PGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Rankin and Song played the Legends course while Smith was on the Champions circuit.
The Top 20 finishers of the qualifying tourney will be rewarded with LPGA Tour cards for 2011.
Knotted in fourth place after 18 holes were Belen Mozo and Pernilla Lindberg (68). One stroke further back were Jimin Jeong and Ayaka Kaneko.
The news wasn't as good, however, for former LPGA pro and two-time Solheim Cup winner Kelli Kuehne, who ended the day tied for last place with an 11-over 83.
