NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the NFC player of the week Wednesday.

Dallas rookie linebacker Sean Lee was given nods for the best defensive performance of the week, and Atlanta kick returner Eric Weems was deemed the top special teams player.

Rodgers completed 21-of-30 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions in a Green Bay win over San Francisco to earn his first weekly award.

Lee had four tackles and two interceptions in the Cowboys' overtime victory over Indianapolis.

Weems returned four kicks for 163 yards, including a franchise-record 102-yard kickoff return touchdown against Tampa Bay.
