CHICAGO, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The Chicago Blackhawks said Wednesday forward Marian Hossa has been placed on the injured reserve list.

The high-scoring but oft-injured forward sustained a lower-body injury during a Nov. 29 practice when he collided with teammate Nick Boynton.

The team had said earlier Hossa would likely miss two to three weeks as he recovers from the mishap. It's the second time he has been hobbled this year after also missing seven games with an upper-body injury beginning in late October.

The move comes only days after the Blackhawks said another of its top scorers, Patrick Kane, would be out about three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Hossa had amassed eight goals and 10 assists in 21 games this season.
