Rockies' Tracy collapses at Florida hotel

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Denver Rockies Manager Jim Tracy, who collapsed at a hotel in Florida, was released from a hospital Tuesday after being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.

The Rockies' Web site said Tracy, 54, collapsed near a set of elevators at the Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel in Orlando earlier in the day. Rockies coaches Tom Runnells and Carney Lansford were with Tracy when it happened.

He was conscious and responsive while being attended to by emergency personnel and stood with assistance prior to leaving the building on a stretcher.

Following his release from the hospital where he was diagnosed with mild arrhythmia, Tracy was returning to his home in Bradenton, Fla., with his family, the team said on its Web site.

Tracy, who was in Orlando for the winter baseball meetings, won the National League Manager of the Year Award in 2009 when he took over the team in mid-season.

The Rockies finished 83-79 in 2010, good for third place in the NL West.
