COL BKB: Kansas 81, Memphis 68

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Markieff Morris and Marcus Morris combined for 30 points Tuesday and No. 4 Kansas pulled away in the second half for an 81-68 win over No. 14 Memphis.

Markieff Morris ended with 16 points and six rebounds and twin brother Marcus chipped in with 14 points and eight boards for the Jayhawks (8-0) in the opening game of the Jimmy V Classic in New York.

With the game tied 39-39 early in the second half, the Jayhawks went on an 11-2 run, capped by Markieff Morris' dunk shot off a feed from Elijah Johnson, taking control of the contest.

Bradley Morrison extended Kansas' lead to 15 points on a 3-pointer with 3:37 remaining.

The Tigers (7-1) got 16 points from Will Barton and Chris Crawford contributed 15 off the bench.
