Kerr back to No. 2 in women's golf ranking

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Jiyai Shin remained atop the world women's golf rankings but Cristie Kerr moved back to the No. 2 spot.

Kerr tied for third at the LPGA Tour Championship, three strokes behind tournament winner Maria Hjorth, a result that boosted her rankings point average to 10.7 and allowed her to move ahead of Suzann Pettersen, who tied for 11th at the Tour Championship.

Pettersen also has an average of 10.7 but Kerr has appeared in more tournaments over the rankings period.

Shin, whose ranking average is 11.17, is No. 1 for a sixth consecutive week.

Choi Na-yeon tied for fifth in the tournament and so switched places with Yani Tseng. Choi (10.46) is now fourth and Tseng (10.30) is fifth.

Ai Miyazato (10.02) is sixth and Kim In-kyung (8.34) kept the No. 7 spot. Ahn Sun-ju (7.41) moved ahead of Kim Song-hee (7.35) and into eighth, pushing Kim to ninth. Michelle Wie (7.30) moved into 10th, switching places with Paula Creamer (7.20), who is 11th this week.
