PITTSBURGH, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Ashton Gibbs scored 17 points Saturday and No. 3 Pittsburgh shot 53 percent from the field in running over Rider 87-68.
The Panthers, one of seven unbeaten teams in the Big East Conference at the start of the day, ran their record to 9-0.
Brad Wanamaker contributed 16 points for Pittsburgh and Dante Taylor had 12 off the bench. The Panthers made 7-of-17 shots from 3-point range and turned the ball over just six times.
Pittsburgh had a 13-point lead at halftime and removed all doubt by going on a 10-0 run early in the second period.
Rider (5-4) was led by Mike Ringgold with 22 points.
