NHL: Los Angeles 3, Florida 2

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar scored with 2:43 to play in the third period Thursday, lifting the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-2 decision over Florida.

The Kings halted a four-game losing streak and won for just the second time in nine contests since getting off to the best start in club history (12-3).

Florida held a 2-1 lead going into the final period but Peter Harrold tied it 2:36 into the stanza with his first goal of the season and the eighth of a five-year career.

Kopitar then tipped in a shot by Dustin Brown to win it for Jonathan Quick, who allowed two goals on 26 shots.

Florida lost for the fifth time in six games. Tomas Vokoun made 21 saves for the Panthers.
